Korean Tea Gathering on Friday, September 24th at 7pm

The Harvest Moon also known as Mid Autumn Moon is upon us and we’re gathering on September 24th to celebrate. The Harvest Moon is Chuseok in Korea and it’s a time to visit family, celebrate the good harvest and feast in traditional food and sweets.

Join us for a variety of traditional Korean teas and sweets and make new friends. All teas will be brewed the Korean Panyaro style with. This will be a fun and warm gathering. Seats are limited to only 8 participants and due to such limited seating, please rsvp asap.

$7.00 per person and transferable to a friend but non-refundable.

Gongfu Cha Meet Up on Saturday, September 18th @ 6pm

The Gongfu Cha group had a fantastic gathering on in August and will be meeting again on Saturday, September 18th at 6pm . Please bring your tea set and any gongfu cha ware that you have. If you are a newbie and would like to join the group, please contact Kim(at)thetealounge.com and she’ll answer all your questions.

ABOUT GONGFU CHA MEETUP

The group is not exclusive and will be open to all members of our community with level of experiences. Together we’re going to make and enjoy tea through the traditional Chinese gongfu cha method.

All member must have their own gongfu tea set (size and style of set can vary). If any member wishes to purchase a complete set, Kaleisia carries a variety of starter sets starting from $40.

All gatherings will be free of charge and a Kaleisia specialist will be available to show any new member the gongfu cha tea procedures. As time passes, we’ll all be able to work toward refining our own style of gongfu cha.

Sunday, September 5th: Normal Hours, OPEN 12PM and closing 6PM

Monday, September 6th: CLOSED all day for Labor Day

The Story of Maté: Tasting & Workshop on Friday, August 27th @ 7pm (FREE)

Join our guest speaker, Katrina Alexander on August 27th at 7pm to explore the yerba mate leaves and the culture that surrounds it. Together we’ll explore the variety of yerba mate as well as it’s popular drinking vessel (mate gourd and bombilla).

Katrina lives in Argentina and will be bringing to the workshop a wealth of information about Yerba Mate. She will share with us the various varietal, offer a tasting of the varietals and share with us the uniqueness between the various gourds and bomilla.
