Knots & Ropework is brought to you be the Tampa Free Skool community.  Come learn 6 fundamental knots and gain a foundation to progress to more advanced knot work.  Includes lessons on the history of knot work, suggested reading, and discussion of real life uses for the knots taught.  All materials provided.

All Tampa Free Skool classes are free to the community.

Underground Comic Club is brought to you by the Tampa Free Skool community.   Meet with other comic artists and aficionados and collaborate to produce an independent comic book.

Example of class: Come to class and students are given a topic. Example: “I really hate it when my mom would …” or “The one food I cannot stand to eat is …” and must illustrate a short (1page max) story. Students must complete a thumbnail and or final product in the 1 hour class, if they do not finish they are welcome to finish it at home and bring it back for review at the next class. Eventually, when there are enough pages, mass produce a short book and hand it out to contributing artists. Any skill or art background is acceptable. The idea is that there are non-commercial, raw, humanistic stories, with art styles that reflect that.

All classes by the Tampa Free Skool community is Free but an RSVP is required.

The USF Botanical Gardens hosts Butterfly and Native Plant Festival on June 9th and 10th.  There will be talks on butterfly gardening, Florida wildlife, bee keeping, herb growing, tea plant growing and a tea 101 talk.  Vendors will sell butterfly plants, herbs and native plants.  This will be a fun outdoors event for the family.

Kaleisia’s tea specialist will offer a catch-all workshop at 11am on June 9th.  The purpose of this class is to familiarize you with the varieties of teas around the world and the proper brewing techniques.

TEA 101  is a catch-all session with Kaleisia’s tea specialist. The purpose of this class is to familiarize you with the varieties of teas around the world and to share information that can make tea more enjoyable.

This is a hands on workshop where you will utilize most of your senses.  You will examine the dry leaves, taste the varieties of teas, and explore the aromas each tea impart.

We encourage you to come with questions and hope you’ll share your tea experiences with the group.  Please note that each workshop is limited to only 15 participants.

Class is FREE with a reservation by 3/17/12 otherwise it is $10 per person.
