George Vandeveer now adorns the Kaleisia wall. Come by and support your local artist. Check back here often because George will be auctioning off some of his paintings. We’ll post details soon.

H. George Vandeveer is a native of North Carolina and currently residing in Tampa (FL). He is a chemist by trade but explores his creative side with dance and art. He has been a performer, instructor, and dance enthusiast within salsa, merengue, cha cha, and bachata. Exposure to the physical training, detail in forms and positions, and the creativity combining the body’s movements to music has given him an appreciation for all forms of art.

This has translated to his fascination with the different positions athletes and dancers can obtain. In his art, you will see four main categories (landscape, modern abstract, dancers, and gymnasts).

Caity Pautler, a painting major at Savannah College of Art and Design, and Elise Pautler, a secong year law student at Stetson University College of Law, have been blowing glass as a sister team for a little over a year.

On weekends and school breaks, Caity and Elise meet at the Industrial Arts Center in Gulfport, Florida where they instruct beginning glassblowing classes and create collaborative glass works. While they have focused on producing functional glass, they continue to explore new concepts through glass sculpture.

Currently, Caity is working with organic, multimedia forms to explore both the beautiful and repulsive aspects of natural life-cycles. Elise’s current work focuses on the concepts of growth and gender roles in various conditions using the mediums of glass and fibers. For special order, please contact Caity at caitypa[at]aol.com.
